... we have a small favour to ask. More people, like you, are reading and supporting our blog: "Chess Engines Diary". And unlike many other sites and blogs, we made the choice to keep our articles open for all, regardless of where they live or what they can afford to pay.
We hope you will consider supporting us today. We need your support to continue to exist, because good entries are more and more work time. Every reader contribution, however big or small, is so valuable. Support "Chess Engines Diary" even a small amount– and it only takes a minute. Thank you. ============================== My email: jotes@go2.pl
HypnoS is a free and strong UCI chess engine derived from Stockfish that analyzes chess positions and computes the optimal moves. HypnoS does not include a graphical user interface (GUI) that is required to display a chessboard and to make it easy to input moves. These GUIs are developed independently from HypnoS and are available online. HypnoS development is currently supported on the Openbench framework. OpenBench (created by Andrew Grant) is an open-source Sequential Probability Ratio Testing (SPRT) framework designed for self-play testing of engines. OpenBench makes use of distributed computing, allowing anyone to contribute CPU time to further the development of some of the world's most powerful engines. HypnoS 190324 download
LcZero - CEDR Rating=3683 vBT4: Big transformer 4. New network architecture which builds off of BT3 by adding two types of auxiliary heads, future heads and categorical value heads. The categorical value heads predict a distribution over values of q rather than a WDL outcome distribution, and the future heads predict the moves that will be played over the next two plies. The hope is that these heads will give additional information to the net to improve training speed. We've also fixed half-precision training, so this model will be larger. BT4 training started in mid-October and is expected to take a few months. It has 15 layers with 1024 embedding size, 32 heads per layer, and 1536 emb size, for roughly a doubling in size over BT3. Author, Eduard Nemeth: This engine is better suited for analysis than the current newer developer versions. The following version is maybe even better. I implemented the network with Dimension 3072 as well as the Random Op. MultiPV mode. Other features include Minimum Thinking Time and Slow Mover. As default is Random Op. MultiPV = 3. I consider this setting to be the best for tactical analysis. With Random Op. MultiPV = 1 the engine behaves like Stockfish 16.1 with network dimension 3072. The original SF 16.1 uses a NNUE with dimension 2560. Download SF 16.1 MPV
